Dr. Jamie Barney, O.D.
A proven leader in his field and a strong supporter of his community.
Dr. Jamie Barney has been serving the greater Park County community since 1987. He received his Doctorate in Optometry as well as his Bachelor in Science from Pacific University in Oregon.
In 2012, Dr. Barney became one of the first optometrists in the nation to become board certfied by the American Board of Optometry (ABO). He is also certified by the Montana Board of Optometry in Diagnostic Ophthalmics, Therapeutic Ophthalmics, Laser Vision Correction Co-Management, and Glaucoma Treatment and Management.
Dr. Barney also serves on the management committee for Summit Optical and is a past Committee Chairman for the Montana Optometric Association.
Dr. Hanna Barney, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Hanna Barney was born and raised in Livingston. She is the daughter of Shari and Dr. Jamie Barney, who founded Eyecare Professionals in 1993. Following high school, she attended Montana State University where she received a Bachelor degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience in 2013. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona in May of 2018.
Dr. Hanna received the “Optolec Award for Outstanding Achievements in Low Vision” and the “Clinical Excellence in Low Vision Rehabilitation” awards in 2018. She is a member of the Montana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She began practicing at Eyecare Professionals in July of 2018.
Dr. Hanna has been an active member of the Livingston community and, in March of 2020, she joined the Board of the Stafford Animal Shelter.
In her free time Dr. Hanna enjoys playing golf and tennis, as well as spending time outdoors with friends and family and her two rescue dogs, Abby and Finley.
Dr. Marisa Hess, O.D.
Providing quality eyecare at Eyecare Professionals since 2009.
Dr. Marisa Hess completed her undergraduate work at Montana State University in 2004 from Bozeman Montana and received her Doctorate in Optometry in 2008 from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove Oregon. She went on to complete her Primary Care Residency at the Department of Veteran Affairs Hospital in Roseburg Oregon. Dr. Hess has been providing quality eye care at Eyecare Professionals since 2009.
She is a member of the Montana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Hess became a board-certified Diplomate by the American Board of Optometry in July 2013.
She enjoys her free time with her husband and son exploring Montana's vast beauty via paddle board and skiing.
Dr. Julia Dunnavant
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Julia Dunnavant, a New Jersey native, is fortunate to call Southwest Montana her new home.
Dr. Dunnavant graduated from Rutgers University in 2010 with dual Bachelor's Degrees in Art History and Cell Biology & Neuroscience. She continued onto the State University of New York, College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate in 2015. Upon graduation, Dr. Dunnavant was granted the award for Clinical Excellence and Proficiency in Low Vision.
Dr. Dunnavant then joined Drs. Savoy, Siegel & Desai Optometrists in Jersey City where she provided Comprehensive and Emergency Eye Care to a uniquely diverse community in the metro New York City area for the next 5 years. She is passionate about healthcare, private practice and small business, and is thrilled to join the Eyecare Professionals team.
When not in the exam room, you can find Dr. Dunnavant and her husband hiking, snowboarding and taking road trips through the mountains.
Kristi is originally from Wyoming and moved to Livingston with her husband Robert in 1986. She has 3 adult children who were raised in Livingston.
Kristi started her career with Eyecare Professionals in February 2000. She is certified by both the American board of Opticianry and the American Optometric Association, Paraoptometric Section.
For Kristi, the best part of her job is working with a great group of doctors and staff who have become her close friends. She enjoys assisting all the wonderful patients she has become acquainted with throughout her years at Eyecare Professionals. Kristi takes pride in the service and professional atmosphere our office provides to our community. She feels it is truly rewarding to help people look their best in their eyewear and maintain their best vision.
Kristi and her family enjoy the Montana outdoors, fishing, hiking, and camping. She also likes to garden, read and crochet. Her future goals include advancing her knowledge of opticianry, and to spend more quality time with her family and friends.
ABOC - Dispensing Optician
Britta is a Livingston native and attended the University of Montana in Missoula where she received a degree in Environmental Studies. Britta moved back home in 2013, and became a certified optician in 2017. Britta not only assists with frame and lens selection, but also final inspects all eyewear and helps patients troubleshoot vision issues.
Britta enjoys the outdoors and currently learning how to flyfish. Other hobbies of hers include, skiing, hiking, and photography.
Amanda joined our office the summer of 2017. She is a Wyoming native, and was raised in a farming and ranching family in Powell. Amanda moved to Montana in 2001 with her husband David and their children. They have settled here in Livingston.
Her background is in the dental field. Amanda was the Valedictorian of her dental assisting class! We are very fortunate to have her on our optical team.
Amanda welcomes taking on new challenges and expanding her knowledge of this career. When she is not busy at Eyecare Professionals, her hobbies include crocheting, cooking, baking, and spending time with her husband, 4 grown children and her “grand dogs”, as well as her own 4 horses and 3 dogs.
CPOT - Paraoptometric Technician
Mikaela grew up in Billings and moved to Livingston in 2020. Mikaela joined our practice in February of 2021, but comes with over 4 years of experience in the optical industry as a Certified Paraoptometric. Her favorite part of the job is frame styling. She enjoys helping patients find their perfect frame to make them look and feel their best. She loves to learn and enjoys exploring all of the industry's latest technologies.
Mikaela has her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Anthropology and is currently pursuing her Master's in Health Science at MSU in Bozeman. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
Kallie grew up in Havre, MT. She moved to Livingston in 2017 with her family. She joined Eyecare Professionals in October 2017 where she works as a technician. She enjoys working with people of all ages and plans to continue her education in the eye care health field. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, fishing, cooking and skiing in the winter.
Tara joined the practice in 2018 and shortly after became a Certified Paraoptometric Technician. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with patients. Tara graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Montana State University. She enjoys all things outdoors and everything Montana has to offer, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
Paula moved to the States in 1995 from the UK. After prior work with Eyecare Professionals, she rejoined the practice in 2019. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Technician.
In her spare time she enjoys her children and pets. Paula volunteers her time to do charity walks with dogs and is also a certified foster parent.
Aya returned to work at our office in 2016. She is our front desk team leader and insurance coordinator. Aya was born in Denmark and moved to Park County when she was four years old. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her kids, hiking, traveling, coffee and participating in community theater.
Casey re-joined our practice in 2019. She is a Montana native and has lived in Park County since the 5th grade. Casey always meets our patients with a smile while working at the front desk. Customer service is her specialty. Casey enjoys the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and camping with her family and friends. She also enjoys taking care of her "mini farm" in Clyde Park.
