Dr. Jamie Barney, O.D.
A proven leader in his field and a strong supporter of his community.
Dr. Jamie Barney has been serving the greater Park County community since 1987. He received his Doctorate in Optometry as well as his Bachelor in Science from Pacific University in Oregon.
In 2012, Dr. Barney became one of the first optometrists in the nation to become board certfied by the American Board of Optometry (ABO). He is also certified by the Montana Board of Optometry in Diagnostic Ophthalmics, Therapeutic Ophthalmics, Laser Vision Correction Co-Management, and Glaucoma Treatment and Management.
Dr. Barney also serves on the management committee for Summit Optical and is a past Committee Chairman for the Montana Optometric Association.
Dr. Barney retired in December of 2020 after 36 years of practice. He will remain an active member of the Livingston community. You will find him golfing, hunting, fishing, and enjoying a very well-earned retirement.
Dr. Hanna Barney, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Hanna Barney was born and raised in Livingston. She is the daughter of Shari and Dr. Jamie Barney, who founded Eyecare Professionals in 1993. Following high school, she attended Montana State University where she received a Bachelor degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience in 2013. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona in May of 2018.
Dr. Hanna received the “Optolec Award for Outstanding Achievements in Low Vision” and the “Clinical Excellence in Low Vision Rehabilitation” awards in 2018. She is a member of the Montana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She began practicing at Eyecare Professionals in July of 2018.
Dr. Hanna has been an active member of the Livingston community and, in March of 2020, she joined the Board of the Stafford Animal Shelter.
In her free-time, Dr. Hanna enjoys playing golf and tennis, skiing, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. She is also a proud “dog mom” to her three rescue pups, Abby, Finley, and Annie.
Dr. Marisa Hess, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Marisa Hess completed her undergraduate work at Montana State University in 2004 from Bozeman Montana and received her Doctorate in Optometry in 2008 from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove Oregon. She went on to complete her Primary Care Residency at the Department of Veteran Affairs Hospital in Roseburg Oregon. Dr. Hess has been providing quality eye care at Eyecare Professionals since 2009.
She is a member of the Montana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Hess became a board-certified Diplomate by the American Board of Optometry in July 2013.
She enjoys her free time with her husband and son exploring Montana's vast beauty via paddle board and skiing.
Kristi is originally from Wyoming and moved to Livingston with her husband Robert in 1986. She has 3 adult children who were raised in Livingston.
Kristi started her career with Eyecare Professionals in February 2000. She is certified by both the American board of Opticianry and the American Optometric Association, Paraoptometric Section.
For Kristi, the best part of her job is working with a great group of doctors and staff who have become her close friends. She enjoys assisting all the wonderful patients she has become acquainted with throughout her years at Eyecare Professionals. Kristi takes pride in the service and professional atmosphere our office provides to our community. She feels it is truly rewarding to help people look their best in their eyewear and maintain their best vision.
Kristi and her family enjoy the Montana outdoors, fishing, hiking, and camping. She also likes to garden, read and crochet. Her future goals include advancing her knowledge of opticianry, and to spend more quality time with her family and friends.
ABOC - Dispensing Optician
Britta is a Livingston native and attended the University of Montana in Missoula where she received a degree in Environmental Studies. Britta moved back home in 2013, and became a certified optician in 2017. Britta not only assists with frame and lens selection, but also final inspects all eyewear and helps patients troubleshoot vision issues.
Britta enjoys the outdoors and currently learning how to flyfish. Other hobbies of hers include, skiing, hiking, and photography.
CPOT - Certified Paraoptometric Technician / Optician
Mikaela grew up in Billings and moved to Livingston in 2020. Mikaela joined our practice in February of 2021, but comes with over 4 years of experience in the optical industry as a Certified Paraoptometric. Her favorite part of the job is frame styling. She enjoys helping patients find their perfect frame to make them look and feel their best. She loves to learn and enjoys exploring all of the industry's latest technologies.
Mikaela has her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Anthropology and is currently pursuing her Master's in Health Science at MSU in Bozeman. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
CPOT - Certified Paraoptometric Technician / Optician
Tara joined the practice in 2018 and shortly after became a Certified Paraoptometric Technician. In October of 2021 she became cross-trained as an Optician and her favorite part of her job is interacting with patients. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with patients. Tara graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Montana State University. She enjoys all things outdoors and everything Montana has to offer, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
CPOT - Certified Paraoptometric Technician
Paula moved to the States in 1995 from the UK. After prior work with Eyecare Professionals, she rejoined the practice in 2019. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Technician.
In her time outside of the office, Paula volunteers at our local animal shelter and enjoys spending time with her children and her pets.
Casey re-joined our practice in 2019. She is a Montana native and has lived in Park County since the 5th grade. Casey always meets our patients with a smile while working at the front desk. Customer service is her specialty. Casey enjoys the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and camping with her family and friends. She also enjoys taking care of her "mini farm" in Clyde Park.
Before entering the world of Eyecare, Elizabeth worked as a manager at her local grocery store, Albertsons. She joined our practice in May of 2021 and loves being able to help each one of our patients pick out the perfect frame, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone.
Elizabeth was raised on a small farm out in Shields Valley, MT where she was also homeschooled with her four siblings.
Elizabeth is an artist, working mostly with paint. She loves being out and about in the Montana outdoors, including fly fishing, hiking, skiing and camping.
Patrick moved to Livingston in 2021 from Colorado. He started as an Ophthalmic Assistant in Colorado and enjoyed working with patients to improve their visual needs through surgical procedures. Upon moving to Montana, he continued to pursue his passion of helping the public’s visual needs as a Paraoptometric Technician. Patrick joined the practice in October of 2021 and is looking forward to continuing his education to better serve the community.
Patrick served in the United States Air Force from 2008 – 2012 as a Security Forces member. He enjoys spending time hiking with his dog “Max”, water sports, skiing/snowboarding and creating art. Patrick’s family has deep roots in the Livingston area and even owns small businesses within the community. Patrick and his family have been coming to Livingston during the summer months since he was a child. He is excited to be living here full time and looks forward to spending more time with the locals.
Eden grew up in North Carolina and moved to Livingston in April of 2021. She has her Bachelors degree in public health from Appalachian State University.
Eden joined our practice in October of 2021. She has previous experience in healthcare working as a patient care coordinator. Her favorite part of the job is helping patients improve their quality of life through proper vision recommendations.
In her free time, she enjoys playing with her chocolate lab, Simms. You can also find her working out, cooking and fishing (or as she would put it “pretending to know how to fish”)!
It had always been a dream of Kathy’s to live in Montana and, 15 years ago, she made the move from Illinois.
Kathy joined our practice in October of 2021. She is skilled in the areas of bookkeeping and management, so she has been a wonderful addition to our front desk team.
Kathy is a mother of 5 children, with 5 grandchildren. She is an excellent cook, specializing in Italian cuisine. In her spare time, she enjoys exercise, music and nature.
Jacklynn joined Eyecare Professionals in November of 2021 as an ABO certified optician. Her favorite part of the job is helping patients find the perfect frame and lens design for their needs and lifestyle, as well as learning about new technology in eyewear and eye health.
In her free time, Jacklynn enjoys playing piano, doing yoga, visiting with friends and family, and hanging out with her dog, Del.
